Summer Reading With Daisy: The Dumb Bunnies' Easter

This week's book is sure to tickle your funny bone!  I know the book has the word "Easter" in the title, but this book has EVERY holiday in it!  If you look closely, Baby Bunny is celebrating the 4th of July.  The Dumb Bunnies are pretty funny in all their books, even though they think they are just normal bunnies.
Let's take a look at The Dumb Bunnies' Easter.  On the cover, all the holidays make an appearance. Dav Pilkey illustrated the book.  He says the illustrations in the book were done with watercolors, India ink, acrylics, and Hamburger Helper!  Dav is a witty guy!
What's really funny about this book is it is written by Sue Denim.  Heeheehee - if you say Sue Denim really fast it comes out as pseudonym!  Ha!  Guess who really wrote it...Dav Pilkey!
Here's a sample of the crazy pictures that are just as funny as the story.  The Dumb Bunnies spend most of the story getting ready for Easter while getting all the holiday traditions mixed up.  It says, "That night while they slept, the Easter Bunny came in a shiny red minivan pulled by eight flying pilgrims."  I'm cracking up here!
This is my favooooorite part of the Dumb Bunny books.  Poppa Bunny always tells Baby Bunny he's good at picking things.  Baby Bunny is picking his nose....aghhhhhhh.  Poppa Bunny says, "that's my boy!".  All the first graders think it's super funny, too.
Dav Pilkey is a super fun author and illustrator.  I think he must like dogs because look what else he wrote:

Dav's books get funnier every time you read them!  Always take a look at the copyright page of the book to see what he uses to create his illustrations.
Happy Reading!

  6. I object to the word dumb! Lee says we will not read any book to children with the word dumb. We hear peeps referring to their little peeps to often calling them dumb. It is kind of a real sore spot with my Lee.
    Thanks for being a friend
